It is an undeniable fact. Thousands of people suffer from high electricity and gas bills. However, prices have skyrocketed in recent months with many households paying hundreds more for power than in previous years. Fortunately, there is a way to save over €50 on your electricity bill. This can mean savings of around 600 euros per year. It really is a lot of money.
If you do it now, you will save over 50€ on your electric bill!
washing machine
Cut washer costs by running one cycle fewer per week. This way you will save about 43 cents per week which translates to 22 euros per year.
Another very important thing is to set the temperature to 30 degrees and load the drum as much as possible to reduce the number of washes. However, if your washing machine has an eco program, I use it to save 30% on energy consumption.
However, if you don’t use your tumble dryer when you spin again, you can save €5 a week. In fact, the dryer is one of the most expensive appliances. It consumes between 2.5-3 kilowatt hours (kWh) per hour, so use it sparingly.
In other words, with all this you can save about 5.62 € per week, up to 292.24 € per year
Take care of the hair dryer
If you dry your hair for 10 minutes 6 days a week, you’ll spend about 65 cents. That’s a week. If you use the towel to remove excess water and use the dryer for 5 minutes, you will reduce your spending to 32 cents per week. This amounts to 16 euros per year.
food preparation
Stop using the electric stove and oven and use the air fryer for the vast majority of foods, for example. This way you will save about 2 euros per week.
Attention to the dishwasher
You can save big if you load your dishwasher to maximum and cut your weekly wash times in half. So reduce 4 courses to 2 and save about €1.30 per week or €67.60 per year.
Replace your desktop with a laptop
However, if you work from home, a desktop computer can cost you up to €3 per week. If possible, switch to laptop and save up to €2.42 per week.
Turn off some equipment
So the first step, of course, is to turn off anything that’s not being actively used or not being used very often. Examples of devices that can be easily turned off are televisions, set-top boxes, and game consoles. The same should be done with chargers and even with decorative lights more than anything else.
However, turning everything off on a daily basis can get tedious. Especially when we have a socket behind furniture, or some other hard-to-reach place. Therefore, it is better to purchase those accessories that have a key and put them in an accessible place. Then just plug everything in there. This way you can easily connect and disconnect. Of course, I can also recommend these shots with a timer, but this way we will save on one side to spend on another.
