Forty-five communist parties, with the exception of the Portuguese People’s Congress, have condemned the “plans” of the Nicolas Maduro government to “assault and interfere” in the Communist Party of Venezuela, the Venezuelan Communist Party announced Sunday.
In the statement issued by PCV Newspaper, “Popular Tribune,” The affiliated communist parties “strongly condemn the plans to assault by fraudulent means the political leadership” of the Communist Party, through “illegal administrative (via the National Electoral Council) or judicial (via the Supreme Court of Justice) intervention”.
Says the manifesto signed by the participants, including the PCV, of the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties, held in October in Havana, Cuba.

The AKP has, on successive occasions, denounced the actions taken by the government against the party, such as the disqualification of its candidate for the re-election in the state of Barinas – where former President Hugo Chavez was born – which took place in January 2022.
The elections were repeated after the Supreme Court of Justice indicated a month and a half ago that there were irregularities in the election law.
In the first attempt to elect a governor in Barinas, the PCV participated in the election in the normal way, but its candidate was deemed unfit to participate in the re-election.
