Square Enix’s new RPG, Octopath Traveler II, has received a new trailer to celebrate its release. The game puts the player in control of eight characters in the world of Solistia, with HD-2D graphics and turn-based combat. Octopath Traveler II was released on Friday (24) and Available now for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

The Octopath Traveler 2 launch trailer tells a bit of the story of each of the game’s eight protagonists. according to Square EnixOctopath Traveler II enhances the features of the first game, without abandoning what made the first game unique.
Highlights of Octopath Traveler II
- Start your adventure with one of eight new travelers, all with different backgrounds, motivations, and special abilities.
- The franchise’s HD-2D visuals, a mixture of retro pixel art and 3D, reach even greater heights.
- The story takes place in Solestia, a place where different cultures from east to west are flourishing and modern industries are in full swing. You can sail the seas and explore every corner of this world, which changes from day to night.
- Each traveler has a set of special actions (Path Actions) that they can use to battle townspeople, obtain items, invite others to join them on their travels, and more. Where will you go? What are you going to do? You can go any way you like.
- The mechanics from the first game are back, such as the freedom to upgrade the Traveler’s classes and skills, as well as the Break and Boost system, which makes battles more dynamic. New mechanics have also been added.
In Octopath Traveler II each character has their own story, and they will intertwine in an indirect way. Although the characters find each other, they each have their own path to follow. Interestingly, Octopath Traveler II arrives on PlayStation devices, not Xbox, while the first game arrived on Xbox, not PlayStation. Until now, we do not know if the first game will come to Sony’s console and if the second will appear on Microsoft’s console.
The game’s release date hasn’t been set yet and rumors suggest it’s not ready at all.
