Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan thinks so Manchester City deserved a draw in the second half against Leipzig, in the match that took place in Germany last Wednesday, the first leg of the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. For Pep Guardiola’s number eight, the team was “sloppy” in the final stretch.
– I think after doing so well in the first half, it was disappointing not to win. I felt like we were sloppy in the second half, at least in some parts. We lost easy balls, created chances for the opponent, and took parts of the second half with ease – Gundogan solved us.
– But the Champions League is like this, it’s very easy to punish this quickly. We know the difficulties, but it is our responsibility. With the team we have, we have to go far and do our best. This is our goal in the second leg – conclude.

Manchester City is still chasing its first UEFA Champions League title. In 2021, the club reached the decision, but lost to Chelsea with a goal by Havertz. The second leg will be at the Etihad Stadium, on March 14, at 5pm (Brasilia time) and the Citizens need a simple win to advance, after drawing 1-1 in Leipzig in the first leg.
