Americana tops the list of cities with the highest number of dengue cases in the region. The high percentage was 1,420% compared to the total number of infected people in the previous year.
The city of Santa Bárbara de Oeste also accompanies the expressive figure. The city recorded a growth of 861% compared to the same period last year.
Campinas comes in third place with an increase of 376%, which is worrying, after all, cities have problems related to rain.
Among the largest cities, only Piracicaba showed a decline in comparison between 2022 and 2021.Dengue:

According to the city council, dengue fever control measures are maintained through a specific program, the guidelines of which are directed by the Ministry of Health.
“The activities are carried out by public servants working for the PMCD (Municipal Dengue Control Programme) but also by employees of Sime Prag do Brasil, appointed by the City Council to complete the work,” the text reads.
“In addition to home visits, teams also spray property with pesticides and inspect points that are strategic, such as flower shops and scrap metal stores, for example,” the note completes.
