There are two health centers in Amadora that offer free breast cancer screening until April
Diagnostics will be carried out by a specialized technical team who will have the latest digital equipment.
According to data from the Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro (LPCC), about seven thousand cases of breast cancer are diagnosed annually in our country, and about 1,800 women die of this disease. Early diagnosis of diseases can save lives, and to prevent an increase in the number of deaths, there will be free check-ups in Amadora starting Tuesday 3 January.
The LPCC mobile unit will be, between January 3 and March 10, at the Venda Nova Health Center. After a four-day break, on March 14, the vehicle in which the examinations will be carried out will move to the Aguas Liveres Health Center, where it will remain until April 5. Consultations are available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and then from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
All women in the municipality between the ages of 50 and 69 are eligible. They will be able to count on a technical team specialized in the field of breast cancer and on the latest digital equipment that promotes a better quality of diagnosis.
