The mayors of Setubal, Palmela and Sesimbra had threatened on Friday to go to the door of the Ministry of Health if the date for the urgent meeting they requested from the Minister of Health was not set, due to the lack of doctors in the Setubal hospital. With no response yet, the mayors will be at 9:00 a.m., Monday, at the door of the Ministry of Health.
Through a post on Facebook – also confirmed by him Renaissance Together with the Setubal Chamber, the mayors say they have no other solution in the face of the minister’s silence.
The dispute revolves around the deteriorating performance of the hospital in São Bernardo, which closed pediatric emergencies for about a week, due to a shortage of doctors.
In this way, without any response from Manuel Pizarro so far, the mayors Andre Martins, Francisco Jesus and Álvaro Amaro will be during the morning on Rua João Crisostomo, in Lisbon, awaiting the owner of the health bag, so that the urgent meeting can happen that request.
Contacted by Renascença, the Health Ministry said it was very committed to listening to all parties. Manuel Pizarro, by means of a memorandum, says that he is ready to receive, in due course, all municipalities requesting masses.
