The survey, which will be conducted during the month of October, will be conducted to identify the infection rate of mosquito larvae that transmit dengue fever, Zika virus and Chikungunya fever. The result will be used to guide actions to combat these diseases.
According to VEM Supervisor, Elaine Bertacco, in Prudente, properties will be inspected in seven regions:
– Region 1: 600
– Area 2:500
– Area 3: 600
– Area 4: 600
– Area 5:600

“The field work will be carried out in the first 15 days, if the weather conditions are favorable. Data analysis and digitization will be done in the other half of the month. The supervisor explained that as per the Ministry of Health guidelines, the LIRAa project should be completed by the end of October.
Also according to Bertaco, to access the index, the number of properties examined will be divided by the number of homes in which enclosures with mosquito larvae were found.
This survey will be the third conducted by the municipality in 2022. In February, the first Breteau Index was conducted. The second in July.
This year, Prudente has already recorded 7,117 dengue cases and five deaths, in addition to 277 cases under investigation and 6,548 cases excluded.
