a Denmark’s Prince Joachim broke his silence on Queen Margrethe II’s latest decision.
The king made a statement To be informed that he would withdraw the titles of prince and princess from the sons of Joachim, and thus from his grandchildren.
The reaction of the youngest son of the monarch was not the most positive. “We are all very sad. It is not good to see our children excluded in this way.”he said in statements to the newspaper Extra Bladet.
“They found them in a position they did not understand,” he admits, noting that he was only notified five days before the decision was announced.
Joachim explains that in May the kings presented him with a plan to realize that this would happen, but only when the children turned 25.
“How did that affect your relationship with your mother?” the journalist asked.
The Prince will pause and reply: “I don’t think it is necessary to dwell on this matter.”
Although the Danish Royal House ensured that the decision was a long-term one, the Prince ensured that it was not.
“I was told five days ago. I have to tell my kids that their identity will change in the new year. I’m really sorry they can’t understand what’s happening to them,” he adds.
Remember that Joachim is the father of Nikolai, 23, Felix, 20, Henrik, 13, and Athena, 10.
“I cannot say that my children are upset. They do not know which side they support. What they can believe. Why would their identity be removed? Why are they being punished in this way?”Asked.
Alexandra, Countess of Fredericksburg and wife of Prince Joachim, also responded to the announcement. We are all confused by the decision. We are sad and shocked,” he said, according to Se og Hør magazine. Children feel ostracized. They cannot understand why their identity has been taken away from them,” he adds.
