On October 12, the city of Beja will host the ninth edition of the Baixo Alentejo Mental Health Meeting, an initiative organized by ARIS da Planície – Association for the Promotion of Mental Health. The event takes place at the UNESCO Center for the Protection of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
In an open community meeting, round tables and conferences will be the starting point for discussion on mental health in the region, bringing together people and entities working to improve the mental health of the population.
“Making mental health and well-being a global priority” is the theme of the meeting, according to the theme of the World Mental Health Day celebrated on October 10, referring to ARIS da Plain, stating that the goal is “once again to give vision to the problems of the people living in Baixo Alentejo and to be An overview of the projects being implemented.
ARIS da Planície is a private foundation for social solidarity whose mission is to raise awareness and train the population to promote mental health and disease prevention and to educate active members of society to support people with mental illness.
Since 2010, the year of its creation, it has promoted several campaigns to promote mental health in collaboration with entities such as the National Mental Health Program of the General Directorate of Health, the local health unit of Baixo Alentejo, the municipality of Beja and Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Beja.
