Hundreds of people were waiting for the coffin to pass through Edinburgh, and the moment was marked by the applause of the crowd in farewell to Queen Elizabeth II.
With the exception of Charles III, Elizabeth II’s children – Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward – were present as the coffin was moved to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
King Charles III is in London for his royal duties, but will travel to Edinburgh on Monday.

Remember that the Queen’s body will rest in the throne room at the Palace of Holyroodhouse until Monday, then go to the Cathedral of Sant’Egidio.
The coffin will be transported on Tuesday to London and will initially remain at Buckingham Palace. On Wednesday he went to the Palace of Westminster, and will remain in a burning room in Westminster Hall until Monday, September 19, the day of the funeral. That day will be a national holiday.
