Kirby is one of the characters that Nintendo likes to put in games the most, and if I had to guess, I’d say he’s probably in the top three in game appearances, both in casual games and in their own games, and Nintendo doesn’t. He was content to release one game of it in 2022, but two, Kirby’s Dream Buffet was the last of them. Is this game worth it?
Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a competition game where you choose one of the different Kirby games and you have to go through the stages of eating as many strawberries as possible. The competition can occur against both the device and other players who use the Nintendo Network.
If I had to compare this game to another, I would say that Kirby’s Dream Buffet is more or less Kirby’s Fall Guys, because the idea of the stages is very reminiscent of the game Mediatonic, although they are less numerous here.
There are races, competitions, arenas where you have to push the enemy out and so on. They all share the same goal of eating as many strawberries as possible, and depending on your performance in these mini-games, you don’t even need to come first to be the winner, but doing the tests helps a lot, because in the end, first place gets 50 pills Another strawberry, the second 20 and the third 10.
Each campaign in the game consists of a race, a competition where you have to catch strawberries falling from the sky, another race and finally a mini yard game also with the same goal.
The game’s controls work well too, and there’s also a recovery action to avoid falling off the podium if you make a mistake during a race and you’re about to fall off the stage, for example.
As you play the Kirby’s Dream Buffet, you’ll collect experience and level up, then unlock what the game has to offer. In all, there are 135 items to unlock at the moment I’m doing this review, some clothes, others music, color palettes and even new minigames so the game doesn’t fall into a slump.
Graphically speaking, Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a nice game for what you are going to do. The game has a very cool art style, with everything very colorful and beautiful. The soundtrack of the game is also great and helps create the mood for competition.
But, is Kirby’s Dream Buffet worth it?
Considering that the game only costs 77 riyals or 15 dollars, Kirby’s Dream Buffet has a lot of interesting content, and the game is much better online, but it is still a game that tires quickly because it is so repetitive.
Is this the type of game I would buy? Probably not, especially with the recent launch of Fall Guys, but if you like the aesthetics of Nintendo’s pink ball games, you’ll probably enjoy here, as the game levels are pretty impressive.
