After 83 years, Benfica and Casa Pella met again in a match in the national championship. As in the only match in this competition as visitors, we won again 0-1. This victory and the controversy in judo are the two topics that stand out in the Benfica news.

Despite the difficulties created by Casa Bella, Benfica was a fair winner and the result was short. In Roger Schmidt’s opinion, “We were the best team and deserved to win.” Our coach considers that “it was not easy because the opponent played well, integrated and compact. The pitch was difficult, and it is difficult to play against ten players behind the ball.” Schmidt adds that “during the first half we had some good moments, but we weren’t able to finish the pass in the best way possible. Gonzalo Ramos, top scorer in Benfica’s victory and considered man of the match, highlights the team’s work and explains that making use of team plays is one of his jobs: “There, in the area, my job is to always believe in every move.
