Even though Windows 11 has many new features fixed, many end up running away from users. They are very specific and only a few are able to even notice their presence, sometimes at specific, custom moments.
One of Microsoft’s latest changes came to show exactly that. It is very simple and discreet, but it can really help many users. We’re talking about a weather widget, which can now give you a prediction of how close it is to you.
Although not yet very popular, the widget area in Windows 11 is more and more complete. It has received new features and improvements from Microsoft, in order to be more useful and complete for users.
The latest one arrived very discreetly, to solve a problem that in reality not many knew existed. We are talking about the weather widget, which was only showing forecasts for places that the user selected in the search box.
Yes, some work has been done to improve location detection in the widgets' recent app updates - which is why the little location icon in the system tray will sometimes say widgets are using your location

With what has been announced and easily proven, it is now possible to configure this tool to show the weather forecast for the location in which the user is. This information will be obtained either by specifying an IP address, or using GPS, if available.
Activating this new feature in Windows 11 is simple, as one would expect from such an option. You should start by opening the widgets and choosing the weather-related widget, and search here for the three points that will give access to the menu for that Microsoft element.
This will open this tool's menu and bring up the options. The one you have to choose is the one called Customize widget, which will open its settings. There will be a new switch that will allow "always use my site" associated with the user.
This new feature is being extended to everyone and you will need this small change in configuration. From that moment on, a Windows 11 user will have more accurate information from Microsoft about the weather for the next day if in the next hours or days.
