The enhancement of the Personal Health Care Unit (UCSP) in Mora came with a new doctor who joined the service this week to ensure a family doctor for all Mora municipality users.
The information was provided by Paula Chuço, Mayor of Mora, who said that “this doctor’s arrival responds to the needs felt so far regarding the apparent shortage of health professionals assigned to UCSP de Mora.”
In Mora, there were about a thousand people without a family doctor, who, with this new doctor in Mora Health Center, now have access to consultations with a medical professional.
The municipality of Mora also confirms that it is following this specific situation with concern, and is doing its best with the Regional Health Administration (ARS) in Alentejo and the Community of Health Centers (ACES) in Central Alentejo to resolve it. “For this reason, the municipality of Mora is pleased to see the arrival of this new doctor, who will ensure basic health care and proper monitoring of the population of Mora,” they say.
The municipality of Mora also states that it will continue to work alongside ARS and ACES in seeking solutions so that residents are protected in terms of medical care, a right fundamental to the well-being of all people and one of this executive’s greatest concerns.
