They met backstage on ‘Married at First Sight’ – and now they’re a couple too
Jessica Batista and Felipe Pereira were invited by competitor Ines Martins. Within three months, they became the show’s eighth unofficial couple.
Filipe Pereira is an old friend of Inês Martins, a contestant in the latest edition of “Casados à Primeira Vista,” on SIC. When her friend told her she was going to be on the show, and even though she’s “not a big fan of reality shows,” she gave her her power.
On the day of the party, one of the special guests, seated in the front rows, was entitled to wear the microphone for two people only. What he didn’t know was that next to him was his future girlfriend. On April 1, a couple was formed – although only one had the ring on his finger. briefly.
“Interestingly, we’re friends with Ennis, but we never cross paths,” the 34-year-old computer technician tells NiT. Jessica Batista became friends with the competitor less time ago. “After the pandemic came, Ines stayed more in Lisbon – Jessica and I are from Santarem – and we ended up never meeting.”
The 29-year-old makeup artist and stylist arrived at the party not knowing who she’ll meet. There will be no more than 20 guests on each side. Someone decided to attack the appetizer table, the pastel de nata. That’s when Jessica Felipe noticed.
“I went to eat with a friend and she noticed me at that moment. It was she who later confessed,” recalls Philip, who will eventually take the initiative and introduce himself and his friends to other secluded Ennis guests, in a separate group.
Suddenly, the production announced who the guests would be to use the microphone that would record the comments during the ceremony. Felipe and Jessica were inside the lottery and they ended up sitting side by side.
“We exchanged some impressions,” recalls Philip. Jessica notes that she eventually forgot that she was taped. “We talked about Bruno, who we didn’t know, mainly about others. We never talked about ourselves.”
First impressions always matter, and in this case it was the best. “I immediately had a great impression of him. I found him so friendly, so amiable, interesting, and intimidating. Jessica remembers, right away, I loved him so much, with his liveliness. Philip returns the compliment.”
“I also thought she was very friendly, very beautiful, but I couldn’t imagine dating her.” Tonight, the guests will finally meet for a post-wedding date. The two ended up not being accompanied.
The reunion took place the next day, when several guests ended up meeting at a bar. “Only then did we start talking, we spent more time together, to get to know each other,” he recalls. The ratio went to cruising.
“It was a little faster than usual. There was nothing like getting to know each other, making friends and then dating. We went straight to the next stage,” he explains. Three months after the show’s party, in July, he took over the relationship.
Before that, the show’s host, Diana Chaves, already knew everything. And they found her in the theater, so he congratulated them. They asked, intrigued, how he knows, and the finger turned to Ines, who commented during the recordings that the two friends were “close”. Diana Chavez told them, “They are the eighth couple in Casados.”
Husband? “Quiet. We haven’t talked about it,” explains Philip. Jessica in tune: “It’s still a bit early [risos]”.
