Mozambican police arrested a father and his brother when they were trying to sell three albino children in Mozambique’s central Tete province, a spokesperson for the foundation Lusa said Monday.
Luciano da Camara said two alleged middlemen in the company were also arrested.
Camara announced that the children, aged 10, 13 and 16, had been taken from their homes and detained while negotiations were being conducted with mediators.
He added that the sale will take place for 2.5 million mitica (about 38,000 euros).

Camara added that the police officers pretended to be interested in buying the three children so that they could be captured, after receiving a complaint that the father and uncle intended to sell the victims.
The suspects intend to deal with the children with buyers in Malawi, who will allegedly kill and use their organs for alleged superstitious cures of people who believe this type of ritual brings good luck and health, a police spokesman for Tete County said.
In some areas of Mozambique, albinism is often killed for obscurantist purposes.
Albinism is a genetic disease characterized by the total or partial absence of pigments in the skin, hair and eyes.
