Livre’s bill to create a program to support the return of immigrant health professionals was the only legislative initiative approved today in Parliament, with the remaining nineteen rejected by the Socialist Party.
Today’s Liberal Initiative (IL) has set a mandatory (mandatory) debate titled “SOS SNS” and presented five legislative initiatives in which Chega, BE, PCP, PAN and Livre have withdrawn their testimony on the subject.
In all, ten bills and other draft resolutions submitted by all Parliaments and individual deputies, with the exception of the PS and PSD parliamentary blocs, were under discussion and voting.
The decision by Representative Rui Tavares, approved by a vote of all seats and PCP abstention, recommends the government to create the Regressar Saúde programme, with incentives specifically directed at Portuguese health professionals, in the case of nurses and doctors who have emigrated and who intend to return to Portugal.
Legislative initiatives voted today addressed topics such as restoring care activity, strengthening family physicians and user access to SNS, paying arrears to suppliers, hiring more health professionals, recognizing the technician assistant profession and protecting pregnant women among others.
