Facebook was keeping an app dedicated to Facebook Watch on the Apple TV. However, for those who are still using it, some changes are expected soon.
According to the gate 9to5MacMeta appears to have discontinued the Facebook Watch app for tvOS, and users should soon stop receiving updates for it.
The change was made to the latest version of the application for the system, which now contains a stop message. Interestingly, this version also changes the main app icon and it is still available on the App Store.
Users can still access videos on the platform through Facebook as usual, and there is only a dedicated Facebook Watch app in the system. Since tvOS does not have a built-in browser, the only way to perform this process would be through AirPlay sharing.
Remember that the Facebook Watch app has been available for tvOS since 2017, and users can log in with their Facebook accounts to see what content will be available on the social network. For now, the action appears to focus only on the Apple system, and the company’s remaining apps on Facebook Watch, on different platforms, still work as expected.
