Goalkeeper V. Guimarães, in an interview with Channel 11, commented on the two controversial moves in the 29th round match of the tournament.
Bruno Varela, goalkeeper F. Guimarães, was interviewed on Wednesday evening by Channel 11 and spoke about the two penalties in the match with FC Porto, at the club Minho, in the 29th round of the tournament. The guard considers the bids to be well judged.
“I always analyze matches as soon as I get home. Then, on the first day, I do the analysis with the goalkeeper coach. [ primeiro penálti]That’s what we talked about between him and me, I wasn’t in a good position. I wish Tarime wouldn’t control the ball, but he does. Then I had time to get back in goal, I ended up not coming back, I was half way through and that made me decide to leave. The first thing I thought was I’d get there first, but I regretted halfway through. This has been discussed a lot, but to be honest, if it was my attacker who fouled, it would have been a penalty for me. I accept the punishment. He did his job, and I didn’t have to treat him that way.”
Taremi converted the maximum penalty kick and scored the only goal of the match. In the second half, he got a penalty kick again, but missed. “If it was my attacker, Oscar [Estupiñán] or bruno [Duarte], I will accept a penalty. There is no point in being hypocritical. It was a mouse, we say. He does this very well. I myself was frustrated, because I studied this and watched many Taremi plays. But in the game there are decisions that we have to make. When he touched the ball, I was already raising my arm, because I knew he was getting close to my knee. It looked very difficult, but I accepted the penalty.”
