Revenue will get a co-op campaign with the Ascension update

Housemarque took advantage of the state of play on Wednesday (09) to announce Yield: Ascension. Free update for Selene saga will be available at March 22 2022. In addition to the co-op campaign, survival mode will be part of the package.

The update will add a new area in the Atropos where players will have to advance level after level in the Sisyphus Tower – not available for co-op mode. As they progress, the challenge will become more dangerous with stronger enemies on each floor.

To explore the Atropos and its biomes accompanied by another astronaut, players will have to reach the Cronose Gate, near the ship’s collision site. It will be possible to join a public session or invite a friend to help you – so you will have Celine in the same place.

• Players will not be able to diverge too much, and the game will try to bring them together again;
• If one of the Selenes’ planes is shot down, it will be possible to revive it – but it will take some time;
• The progress of the story will be tied to the host, but the “helpers” will keep some progress with the xenoglyphs and logs collected in their accounts;

Sisyphus Tower will be the ‘endless mode’ of returnees

Housemarque cited its arcade roots when introducing the Returnal of Sisyphus Tower. There will be an “infinite world” because the challenge will never end. According to the developer, the goal is to see how far players can get before giving up:

According to the roots of the passages, Sisyphus’ Tower, in short, is our infinite state. Players will strive to climb the tower as far as they can. However, just like the tragic story of Sisyphus, there is no end to the ascent, and players are tragically doomed to meet their end as the situation becomes more and more difficult. The question is, how far can you get before you give up?

The mode will not support cooperation between players, but a leaderboard will be provided to dispute who went the farthest to climb the tower. To improve the new narrative content, in addition to the bosses, the brave are waiting. Will you face it?
