If there’s one test any smartphone maker dreads, it’s the durability test by Zach Nelson of JerryRigEverything’s YouTube channel. And the last device that was used there was the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
This restores the design of the Note line that Samsung had already declared officially extinct. But are they keeping the brand’s track record in this popular durability test? In the video below you can watch the full test.
As usual, the screen is the first target. And in terms of risk, it receives it as a level 6 on the Mohs scale, with a greater predominance than level 7. And beyond is something common on most smartphones.
The sides of the smartphone are made of aluminum, taking the usual risks that an x-ato device poses. As you would expect, some pressure easily ends up breaking the S-Pen which can be easily opened with a knife due to the plastic body.
Scratches in the area of the biometric sensor built into the screen do not damage it. Even with some expressive risk involved, that risk continues smoothly. Even with the spark plug nearby, the screen recovers without any issues.
The folding test is the scariest, and it’s usually left to the end. This determines who passes or fails this test. As the YouTube user himself claims, these are “hard as a rock”, and there is no hint that they can be folded.
