German authorities have confiscated the luxury yacht Dilbar owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, according to Forbes magazine.
The 156-meter luxury ship is worth at least $600 million (540 million euros). However, some specialized magazines estimate that the superyacht will be priced at 800 to 1 billion dollars (720 to 900 million euros).
Usmanov, who owns stakes in steel giant Metalloinvest as well as Xiaomi, was a shareholder in Facebook and in 2018 sold his 30% stake in English club Arsenal for about $700 million.
According to Forbes magazine, the ship was seized at the Blohm + Voss shipyards in Hamburg, where it has been located since October.
The Russian billionaire bought Dilbar in 2016 for 540 million euros. The ship was built by the German company Lürssen, which designed the yacht for 52 months, according to Usmanov’s instructions.
The ship is the world’s largest motor yacht by gross tonnage with a crew of 96. Dilbar also has the largest swimming pool ever built on a yacht, two helipads, sauna, gym and beauty salon. The yacht has 12 suites.

The seizure of Usmanov’s giant yacht comes at a time when many Russian billionaires have moved their yachts to the Maldives and Montenegro to prevent their confiscation after the imposed sanctions.
