The first half was full of energy as Sporting and Porto tried to remove the image of the last Clasico, which ended with several attacks. Mateus Nunes was very close to the goal, with a superb shot that came close to the right post from the returning goal of Marchesen.
In the second half, Sporting studied the free kick, Pedro Borro’s pass and Pablo Sarabia’s superb goal with an arc shot in a win over Marchesin.
However, the equalizer would come ten minutes later. Bourou’s foul on Evanelson in the penalty area and Mehdi Tarimi beat the penalty kick with a 1-1 draw.
A move that changed the course of the game, as Sporting sensed the opponent’s goal and suffered again shortly after, in a wonderful move by FC Porto. Inside the Leonen area, Taremi Evanelson assisted with a heel and the Brazilian striker only had to put the ball down to hit Odin again.
Both Sporting and Porto kept looking for goals but the result was achieved and Porto Alvalade left with a 2-1 victory. The second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-final will only take place in April.
