Environmental health monitoring will take place at the end of the afternoon of Friday, the 18th, nebulizer activity (application of pesticides) in 9 blocks of Jardim Paraíso, the northern district of the city.
This action will occur due to an imported case of dengue fever in the neighborhood and will complement other activities being carried out with the aim of reducing Aedes aegypti mosquito breeding sites and stopping the transmission cycle of this disease.
The Environmental Health Monitoring Team will start nebulizing from 5 pm to 6 pm. In case of rain or strong wind, the procedure will be rescheduled.
For this nebulizer activity, a miniature aerosol generator will be used along with a vehicle that will allow the application of insecticides in very low quantities on a large scale.
Residents will not need to leave their homes while working, but it is necessary to follow some recommendations such as: leaving doors and windows open, not staying on the sidewalk while pesticides are applied and not leaving bird cages in front of the property.
The product will only work at the time of application, so eliminating conditions favorable to the spread of Aedes aegypti through proper maintenance of vessels containing standing water is still the best way to combat dengue.
It is important for the population to seek medical attention when symptoms such as high temperature, headache, pain in the back of the eye, muscle aches, red spots on the skin, fatigue, and confusion arise, because if there is a suspicion or other dengue arbovirus, such as Chikungunya, it will be Status notification and actions to break the transmission cycle will be triggered in time.
In 2022, 3 imported cases of dengue were confirmed.
