“I saw an ad on Facebook that the Mega Millions jackpot was going up, so I logged into my account and bought a ticket,” Laura Spears told Michigan Lottery employees.
“A few days later, I was looking for an email from someone who got lost and went to check the spam folder on my account,” he added.
“That’s when I saw an email from the Michigan Lottery saying I won a prize. I couldn’t believe what I was reading, so I logged into my lottery account to confirm the message. I am still in shock because I received so much money.”
Laura received the award last week at the Michigan Lottery headquarters, and plans to share the award with family members and retire early.
“I definitely added the Michigan Lottery to my list of safe senders, just in case I was lucky enough to receive another email about a huge prize,” Spears concluded.
