Google releases a long-awaited update for the Pixel 6 phones. Android expert Mishaal Rahman pointed out that Google has posted OTA images on its development site for the January 2022 patch. You can download the update for the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro phones. In an email, Google confirmed that the launch has begun and that the program will automatically launch next week depending on your device.
This patch includes several bug fixes and some new features that Pixel 6 owners have been eagerly awaiting. This patch should modify the fingerprint sensor and camera and support 23W wireless charging with the second-generation Pixel Stand. In the Pixel 6 Pro, the user can use the ultra-wideband chip to access the digital car key for compatible BMW vehicles.
This update also adds the “Quick Tap to Snap” integration released by Google and Snapchat during the device launch event and new bass controls for the Pixel Buds A-Series.
Google originally intended to ship these features in the December update, but had to stop and remove files from its site when users complained of various connection issues after installing the patch.
Google says the January update contains fixes for those same bugs and includes the December update fixes to address bugs that caused at least one known Pixel 6 user to completely abandon the phone.
With public images circulating and with a Canadian telecom carrier reporting on Monday, January 17 will be the launch. This date is not the ideal date because it is already several months behind schedule because many people who bought the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro were hoping for a premium device, and while the hardware is actually of a very good standard, the software experience hasn’t always been The most fun.
