The British Prime Minister has been accused of corruption after rumors emerged that he had sought donor funding to renovate his apartment.
Boris Johnson faces new charges after recently posting WhatsApp messages with fellow Conservative Tory David Brownlow. Johnson described parts of his Downing Street home as “advice” and asked for “approvals” so the decorator, Lulu Little, could “continue” the work in November 2020. Finally, he signed the letter, saying: “Note: The grand view will be reversed.” Lord Brownlow replied, “Of course, ask Lulu to call me and we’ll work it out as soon as possible!”
On Thursday, Johnson was forced to acknowledge a “modest and sincere” apology for writings that were not delivered to his independent moral advisor during an investigation that began last spring.
The first Great Fair was held in Hyde Park in 1851. Brownlow, then Secretary of Culture, and then Oliver Dowden discussed plans for “The Great Fair 2.0” after weeks of exchanging WhatsApp messages, records show the officers.
Asked about the plan Johnson was referring to, his spokesman said it was “an idea that has not been brought up”. He added that the “UK Festival” – formerly known as the Brexit Festival – will take place instead in 2022.
