a few days ago, A group of hackers have revealed that they have made great strides in unlocking the PS5. Although a definitive solution has yet to be found, the discovery of PS4 unlocking seems to have brought players closer and closer to enjoying PS5 games illegally.
Three console attackers have released a new unlock kernel version for PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro, running software version 9.00 and earlier. In other words, it works with illegal applications and copies of games, which should please many players.
The unlock, called “pOOBs4,” is credited to PlayStation hacker SpecterDev, ChendoChap and Znullptr, thanks to Sleirsgoevy and TheFloW. Unlocking requires access to the Internet and a USB port containing a special file. Once booted, the console is ready to receive downloads from your PC, including custom firmware from Mira Project, or GoldHEN.
Through a video, a hacker showed the unlock working on PS4 with update 9.00.
Znullptr spoke about unlocking after a few hours, confirming that this was true and that the kernel used for unlocking should work on PS5 as well. However, the PS5 version was not created because the lead developer does not own the PS5.
SpecterDev has released open pOOBs4 via links to GitHub.
Given the fact that hackers are pretty confident that unlocking works and believe that it even works on PS5, it won’t take long to get to the new Sony console.
It’s worth remembering that the PS2 became one of Sony’s most popular consoles largely due to its ease of opening, which led to the proliferation of games and made them even more popular. Even though the PS4 is at the end of its lifecycle, the PS5 is still taking its first steps, and this early opening could completely change the trajectory of the console.
