After 72 championships, it is finally time for the Netherlands to lift the F1 title. This Sunday (12), Max Verstappen was crowned class champion, winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix by beating Lewis Hamilton on the last lap, precisely the big contender in the championship row.
With Max’s victory, the Netherlands became the 15th country in Formula One history to lift at least one trophy. South Africa, Canada and New Zealand also have only one title.
The standings is still led by the United Kingdom, the 20 trophies, more than a third of them via Hamilton, the seven-time champion. Germany came second with 12 drivers, but it had only three champion drivers: Michael Schumacher seven times, Sebastian Vettel four times and Nico Rosberg, the former tormentor of Hamilton.
Brazil is still in third place. Ayrton Senna, Nelson Pique and Emerson Fittipaldi leave the country with eight cups, three ahead of Argentina, who only played tournaments with Juan Manuel Fangio, but added 5.
