Channel 4 has signed a sub-licensing agreement with Sky Sports on the grounds that it will be a historic moment for British sports
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will decide the title of the 2021 Formula 1 season, will be broadcast live on Channel 4 TV in the UK. Sunday (12).
Dutchman Max Verstappen and Briton Lewis Hamilton entered the race, which tied for the top spot in the Drivers’ World Championship with 369.5 points. Verstappen only has one more win advantage during the tournament (9×8).
Currently, Sky Sports, a closed television broadcaster, holds the exclusive rights to all F1 races in the country, with the exception of the British Grand Prix, until 2024. As part of this contract, Sky and Channel 4 have signed a free-to-sublicense agreement to air-television of the English race. The new sub-licensing deal has now covered the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

It should be noted that in September, Channel 4 concluded a similar deal with Amazon Prime Video to show the title of British tennis player Emma Raducano at the US Open. In 2019, it had already agreed a partnership with Sky to showcase the Cricket World Cup Final.
