“For protection, the process is the same as for Covid-19. Precautions are to use masks, wash hands frequently or use alcohol gel,” explains Undersecretary for Primary Health Care, Dr. Edneia Martuchelli – File? A diary
The Municipal Health Authority, through the Department of Health, will ramp up vaccinations against the influenza virus. This procedure is done during the vaccination campaign, which seeks to reach the target of 90% of the population protected from H1N1 influenza. In recent weeks, the Rio de Janeiro State Department of Health (SES-RJ) announced an outbreak of H1N1 influenza throughout the state. In Teresópolis, SMS also recorded an increase in the number of cases of seasonal influenza, especially in children and the elderly who have not yet been vaccinated.
In this way, SMS alerts residents to look for health units in the city and countryside, and EPEM (in Varzia), where they can be vaccinated. Priority groups are: children under five years of age, pregnant women, women after childbirth, and the elderly over 60 years of age. The vaccine is given in a single dose, without the need for a booster dose. Therefore, people who received the vaccine at the beginning of the year are already immunized. “For protection, the process is the same as for Covid-19. Precautions are to use masks, wash hands remotely and wash hands frequently or use alcohol gel,” explains Undersecretary for Basic Health Care, Dr Idnia Martocelli.
