If you get this message, most likely you were suspicious and must have really thought it was some kind of scam attempt. But it is not. The fact is that this message is an official notification from Facebook and the result will be the ban of your account.
But what is this? Well, this is an option that has been available for a few years in the US and is meant to protect accounts from hacker attacks. And no, not everyone received this notice, because Facebook Protect is for “sensitive” accounts, i.e. accounts that have been selected as being of paramount importance to the initiation of attacks, such as government officials, human rights defenders or journalists, for example.
So but what is Facebook Protect?
Facebook Protect is an additional level of security for select accounts, designed for candidates and elected representatives during political campaigns. Thus, selected accounts will receive assistance from Meta to adopt stronger security measures, such as two-factor authentication, and to monitor potential intrusion threats.
To ensure the security of Pages, all administrators of shared Pages must have permission to post on them. This also applies to individual Page Administrators who have opted out of the Program. Authorization to post on a page requires that the people who manage these pages secure their account with two-factor authentication and confirm the country of the primary site. Additionally, it requires Page admins to manage the Page using a profile with their real name, which is the only individual profile on the platform.
I have received the notification and want to activate. How to make?
Well, first in the notification itself there are steps to activate this feature, there will also be an assessment of your account, that is, if you use a secure password and if you are not, then Facebook will advise you to change it.
The idea of this new “commitment” is that the accounts are more secure, in this way, there is no use of hackers to spread links/scams (or others) to these accounts, and also protect their followers.
