Supporters oppose deal with Qatar Airways and try to force call termination
Bayern Munich’s first general assembly since the beginning of the pandemic was very hot. At the center of the controversy was the sponsorship agreement with Qatar Airways, which the German club’s management intends to extend until 2023, but with resistance from a group of partners, who made themselves loudly heard at this wonderful meeting. Michael Ott, a lawyer and partner in the Bavarian logo, defended that group and addressed the Bayern board, demanding that the deal be terminated. Ott even asked a court in Munich to force the court to discuss it in the AG, but to no avail, much to the immense discontent of those present in the hall. However, colleagues did not give up and took another motion to vote, which forces Bayern to respect human rights and fight discrimination. It passed with 77.8% of both the support and the opposition vote from the whole leadership … Faced with the reluctance of President Herbert Hainer to terminate his contract with the airline, many supporters shouted: “We Bayern, you are not!”
