The people of Rio de Janeiro are the champions when it comes to voting. Rio de Janeiro will ban people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 from accessing elective surgeries from September 1, 2021. Ordinance 49334/21, signed by Mayor Eduardo Paes, was published in the Friday edition of the municipality’s Official Gazette.

For surgical procedures, patients must demonstrate vaccination with the first, second or single dose, according to the schedule set by the municipal health department.
