Portugal on Friday recorded more than 2,507 cases of COVID-19 and nine deaths linked to the disease, according to the latest report from the Directorate General of Health (DGS) released today.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 17,622 people have died of this disease in the national territory and 1,1014632 cases of SARS-CoV-2 have been identified.
According to the latest official report, there were 2,391 more recoveries in the past 24 hours. In all, 952,094 patients have recovered from the disease in Portugal since March 2020.
The North region is the region of the country with the most recent notifications, with a total of 37.8% of diagnoses.
The epidemiological situation report, with updated data as of midnight yesterday, indicates that the region of Lisbon and Valle do Tejo is the region with the largest number of accumulated deaths related to SARS-CoV-2 with 7,538 (+5), followed by the north with 5,478 Deaths (=), Center (3,071, +3) and Alentejo (1,004, =). At least 419 (+1) deaths have been recorded in the Algarve.
40 deaths (=) were recorded in the Azores. In Madeira there are 72 deaths linked to the disease.
Admission goes down
Across the national territory, there are 687 patients in hospital, less than yesterday, and 143 in intensive care units (ICU), more than the day before.
