a Mercadona announced on Friday that it will begin the recruitment process for new stores that will open in 2022 in the municipalities of Setúbal and Montego, both belonging to the Lisbon metropolitan area (AML). “The opening of these two stores in the Setubal area represents a major step in the expansion project that Mercadona has developed in Portugal since 2016,” the Spanish brand said in a statement.
In parallel, Mercadona is currently recruiting for stores that will continue to open in the North District, also in 2022, at Guimarães, Braga and Beauvois de Varzim.
Those interested in the various job offers available can submit their applications on the Mercadona website, access the Employment section and submit their CV.
“The company continues to focus on job creation, therefore, the new offerings now available are committed to forming a team focused on excellence and service, highly motivated and aligned with the company’s vision, to achieve the goals of the joint venture,” Mercadona says.
Currently, Mercadona has 24 stores in Portugal, in the Porto, Braga, Aveiro and Viana do Castelo regions, having already opened four of the nine openings planned for 2021.
The Spanish supermarket group adds: “This year the company plans to invest 150 million euros and employ a total of 600 people, with an effective contract from day one.”
