The captain of the port of Porto Santo coordinated and assisted a ferry with the United Kingdom flag last night, August 17, which sailed on the south coast of Porto Santo and sank in a sea between the Marina and the city ship, three people aboard.
The alert was received at 20:35m at the MRSC Funchal’s Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Sub Center by Patrio-More, captain of the Porto Santo, according to the National Maritime Authority. Maritime Police Warning.
“The Porto Santo Captaincy’s lifeboat was immediately brought to the site and the co-operation of the pilot ship of the port administration of the Autonomous Region of Madeira was requested”, citing the same press release from the National Maritime Authority.
When they arrived at the scene, they confirmed that components of the Lifeboat were trapped and that “all three were in good health and did not need medical help, but they could not run their own way.”
With the arrival of the port management pilot ship of the Madeira Autonomous Region, a towing cable pulled the sail and ended up wrong. It was then towed to the marina in Porto Santo for safety reasons, where it will be inspected to check the safety conditions for boating.
A local command of the Porto Santo Maritime Police took note of the incident.
