Since its opening, the Family Clinic has provided more than 80,000 medical consultations
On Saturday, October 16, the Kassem Family Clinic completed four years of existence, a modern and unprecedented project, aimed at comprehensive care, focusing on primary care, disease prevention and health promotion. The Family Clinic provides assistance to pediatricians, dieticians from various fronts, geriatricians and family physicians, and is the basic basis of care, as well as prevention programs for all stages of life.
The Caixa dos Serveres Family Clinic also serves as a collection point for laboratory tests. Through this service, Cassems beneficiaries can carry out consultations in the health unit and, if necessary, take tests in the same place. Exams offered at the collection point are: Hematology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Hormones, Parasitology, Uroanalyses, Foot Test, Toxicology and Microbiology.
The space is planned to provide Caixa dosServes beneficiaries with a reception focused on primary health care, an organized health care strategy that aims to respond in a regional, continuous and systemic manner to most of the health needs of the population, integrating preventive and curative measures as well as the care of individuals and communities. Since its opening, Clínica da Família has provided more than 80,000 consultations.
For Caixa dosServers Health Assistant Director, Maria Auxiliadora Budib, since Cassems opened the Family Clinic, the space serves thousands of beneficiaries per month, who are monitored throughout their life cycle.
“When we opened Clínica da Família, our goal was to deliver a change in healthcare, based on multidisciplinary and continuous care, that brought us solidity in primary healthcare. This service model is designed so that the beneficiaries have a “doctor to call themselves”, who will constantly accompany them throughout their lives. Boudib points out that the structure we have set up serves the families of patients in all their age specificities, from childhood to old age.
According to Cassems President, Ricardo Ayach, at the opening of the Family Clinic, the main objective of the Caixa dosServers Council was to highlight the importance of the GP as a gateway to care, a model already popular in other countries.
“When we opened Clínica da Família, our idea was to offer comprehensive healthcare, however, our main goal was to return to the importance of the GP as the first contact with the patient. This professional is directed, if necessary, to a specialist. This concept of continuous care, already adopted in many countries around the world, also ensures a greater likelihood of implementing prevention and health promotion. Therefore, our main goal has always been to take care of health before the onset of disease. Today, four years after the clinic opened, we realize it was the right situation, considering the number of beneficiaries receiving humane, high-quality care in this structure, Ayyash says.
