In May last year, LG stopped making smartphones and tablets. Without the splendor of the past, the South Korean manufacturer decided to devote itself to products that have really succeeded.
But it does not stop supporting your smartphones. The brand promised three years of software updates for its premium smartphones. This means that the Q line and other premium models will get Android 12 and Android 13.
In a statement, LG has now revealed the next three smartphones to receive Android 12. These updates will reach terminals at the end of the quarter, and will be released for the first time in South Korea. After that, they will also have access to the global versions.
The following LG smartphones that will receive Android 12:
- LG Q92 5G
- LG V50 ThinQ
- LG V50S ThinQ
In the case of the LG Q92 5G, we are talking about a smartphone launched in 2020. However, the LG V50 ThinQ and LG V50S ThinQ are devices that date back to 2019. The brand also revealed three smartphones that will receive security updates until the end of this quarter.
LG advises users to save important data and files before upgrading. This is because files may be lost during the update process from Android 11 to Android 12.
Despite the fact that LG has discontinued the manufacture of smartphones, it is good to see the commitment that it is still revealing to its users. This is while we see brands still releasing new devices with Android 11.
