The Castro Verde City Council, in partnership with the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit (ULSBA), will formalize a protocol for the rehabilitation and expansion of the Health Center and Basic Emergency Service (SUB) in Castro Verde. The signing ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 25, Thursday, at 12 noon, and will take place at the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Município.
The event will be attended by the Mayor of Castro Verde, Antonio José Brito, and the Chairman of the ULSBA Board of Directors, José Carlos Quemado. This initiative symbolizes the beginning of works to improve this health infrastructure, which the municipality will implement and finance through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The planned investment for this project is approximately 2.1 million euros.
The Castro Verde Health Center, especially the Basic Emergency Service (SUB), serves a large population. Located in a strategic area, close to important communication routes such as IP2, EN2 and A2, and also from the two largest mines in Portugal, Neves Corvo and Algostrell, the center serves approximately 40,000 people from the municipalities of Castro Verde and Algostrell.
