Check Point Research (CPR) has identified a critical vulnerability in the UNISOC chip. These are the processors responsible for the mobile communications of 11% of the world’s mobile phones. Furthermore, the CPR investigation marks the first time that a UNISOC chip has been subjected to reverse-engineered techniques to screen for security flaws. Then, when UNISOC was reported, the vulnerability was rated at 9.4 out of 10 in significance, i.e. a very severe failure.
