North American ticketing company Viagogo revealed that Wimbledonwhich is always played at the beginning of July in the UK, was the most in-demand sports ticket in the country in 2023, accompanied by a 41% increase in demand for live events overall, compared to the previous year.

The Tennis Championships, one of the four major tournaments of the season, is ranked as the most popular sporting event for both British and overseas sports fans. To give you an idea, Wimbledon tickets have been bought by fans from 56 different countries on Viagogo, highlighting the global scale of the competition.

Viagogo attributed the 41% increase in sales to the post-pandemic impact.

“This year’s continued demand for tickets sold on Viagogo highlights the value fans place in live events. Players and personalities, along with traditional rivalries, are driving interest and demand for teams and leagues,” said Chris Miller, Viagogo’s global general manager.
