There is a new chapter in the TV series between Sergio Conceição and Manuel Barroso, the mayor of Cartaya. Speaking to TVI, the mayor once again accused the coach of pushing him into the tunnel, after the end of the U-9 match, in Spain.
“On the way from the tunnel to the changing rooms, he started pushing me, not only me, but also the Civil Guard and other technicians from the municipality of Cartaya, and the atmosphere became a little unpleasant,” Manuel Barroso begins by saying.
“The Civil Guard duo who were here were under pressure, and we had to ask for police support and more than 20 officers appeared, as many members of the FC Porto delegation came to defend the coach,” says the mayor.
However, Manuel Barroso presents new information and states that one of the employees, on the field, informed him that both Sergio Conceicao and his son, Moises, were insulting the referee throughout the match, before they “tried to assault him,” already on the grass.
“One of the employees informed me that these two people, who were in the audience throughout the match insulting the referee, jumped onto the field and headed towards the referee, with the intention of assaulting him. This did not happen because I intervened and asked them to get off the field. “I touched Sergio's son, who told me he didn't know who he was talking to.”
