Medical equipment worth €2.3 million, including ventilators, pumps and monitors, has been donated to Ukraine by the UK government.
The donation package will support 60 intensive care beds to support hospitals in Ukraine. These include various ventilators, oxygen concentrators, suction pumps, patient monitors, volumetric pumps, and heated humidifiers.
This is urgently needed equipment for healthcare facilities in Ukraine to treat citizens.
“The UK's support for our friends in Ukraine is unwavering and we want to help in any way we can. This donation supports hospitals and builds on earlier deliveries of life-saving medicines and equipment.
We will continue to work closely with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and other partners to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches people in need more quickly,” said UK Health and Social Care Minister Victoria Atkins.
The donation follows a request for assistance from the Ukrainian Minister of Health. The Minister for Health and Social Care recently met the First Lady of Ukraine and reiterated the UK Government's continued support for her.
The donation brings to more than €416 million in humanitarian aid the UK has provided since the start of the invasion of Ukraine. UK support is contributing to an international response that will reach 11 million people in Ukraine by 2023 and 15.8 million by 2022.
