UEFA confirmed on Wednesday that it had received a request from Italy and Turkey to combine their individual bids in a separate bid to host the 2032 Euro Cup.
“The awarding of both matches requires the approval of the governing body at its meeting in Nyon on October 10,” European football’s governing body said in a statement.
England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales made a joint bid to host Euro 2028. There is no opposition to the Euro 2028 bid after Turkey withdrew from the race to focus on a joint Euro 2032 bid with Italy.
“We look forward to submitting our bid to UEFA on October 10. These are exciting times and we have a very compelling Euro 2028 bid for UEFA,” the Football Association of Ireland said.
