ShA police officer who was accompanying the Prime Minister of Hungary on a trip to Germany died on Monday after a car collided with the motorcycle he was riding.
The incident occurred in Stuttgart, where Viktor Orbán went to watch Hungary’s match against Scotland in Euro 2024 on Sunday.
The Hungarian Prime Minister was heading to Stuttgart Airport.
Another police officer was seriously injured following the collision, but the Hungarian prime minister was not injured, the Associated Press reported.
A squad of motorcyclists from the Stuttgart traffic police was accompanying the Hungarian leader when the car driver collided with an officer who was following him on a motorcycle. This agent, who was on a motorcycle, was thrown, leading to him running over another who was isolating an intersection. The first agent died and the second was seriously injured.
According to Stuttgart police, the driver did not see that the intersection was closed to traffic, which led to him colliding with the officer’s motorcycle while trying to turn left.
Ludwigsburg police investigated the incident.
