In the house famous for its icons, one piece stands out that has gained legendary status above all else: it is called the Trinity and is in the shape of a ring.
Its name evokes its spiritual, if not sacred, nature. Trinity, which was born as a ring and later turned into other types of jewelry such as bracelets, earrings and pendants, is 100 years old and still retains the mystery that made its origin possible.
Three rings, each made of a different type of gold (white, yellow and rose), are independent and at the same time inseparable.
Its creator, Louis Cartier, was aware of the symbolic power of the number three, which has always had great importance in the history of Cartier: three were the brothers who founded the brand (Pierre, Jacques and Louis himself) three were the brothers who founded the brand (Pierre, Jacques and Louis himself) and three were Boutiques (Paris, London, New York).
Whether as a ring or bracelet, the Trinity was an instant success, giving it a prominent place in Cartier's catalog over 100 years and evolving in line with changes and trends.
It became a seven-link bracelet (1967), increased in size, covered with diamonds and fitted with new materials such as black ceramic. All without losing your identity.
Changes also witnessed by many celebrities who wore the ring and who are part of the legend: Jean Cocteau and Gary Cooper in the 1930s, or movie stars such as Romy Schneider, Alain Delon and Grace Kelly, allowed themselves to be immortalized with the Trinity in your hands.
