The PRR funds the health center in Abrigada
As part of the PRR investment, the Alenquer City Council has already launched a tender for the construction of the Abrigada Health Centre.
The project costs €1.5 million, is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), and has an implementation period of one year from its start.
“It involves the construction of a building and its external arrangements. “The current facilities are rented and outdated and, therefore, it does not make sense to rehabilitate the facilities,” highlights Alenquer Mayor, Pedro Fulgado.
This work falls within the scope of primary health care reform, which will be implemented through the investment of Component 1 of the Poverty Reduction Strategy “Primary health care with more answers”.
The investment aims to rehabilitate health center facilities and equipment, ensure access, quality, comfort and safety conditions for users and professionals and adapt them to new models of health care delivery.
The Portuguese healthcare system faces important challenges linked to evolving healthcare needs and the growing demands and expectations of the population. In order to respond to these challenges, the primary health care reform is being implemented, which is based on the Basic Health Law and follows a transversal, comprehensive and integrated approach, aiming to enhance responsiveness in all aspects of intervention, specifically in the area of health promotion.
