Confidential Sony documents indicate that the brand will not have plans for a new PlayStation before 2027. The leaked information is part of a lawsuit filed by the British regulatory agency CMA, related to the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft.
These reports have some corrected data, but they do indicate that PlayStation may lose access to the Call of Duty franchise around 2027, which also comments that Sony would be interested in launching its new generation of consoles at the same time.
The lack of a Call Of Duty franchise could be seen as a problem for PlayStation, as it would reduce the appeal of launching a new generation. This title has a history of good sales numbers.

It’s still rumors, but with the PlayStation 6 allegedly launching in 2027, the current console would have been completed in nearly eight years.
This period is normal for Sony consoles.
